mount baldy

This is mount baldy this is the way we first got to climb up this thing when I was a kid and more recently as a few years ago. This is only what you see from the bottom of this sand monster. This is a map showing how mount baldy is slowly eroding away due to millions of people each year climbing it. It is now closed off you now have to walk the trail, which is nice but.... straight up is really the best way. But we have to preserve our mount baldy for the future. this is the view from the top of the dune. If it werent for the smoke stack It would be pristine. but in order to get a clear picture of the dune you have to look up at it from the bottom. and try to climb it. then you will think to yourself what in the heck am I doing trying to climb up this thing. each step you take up you will probably slide three steps back, shoes are no match for it's shifting sand, and oh yes you will feel it in the morning. but when you sit up there for a sunset with someone you love, or gaze over the blue waters at chicago's sky scrapers in the distance, you will understand why it is so special. There is just no place like it. we are blessed to be able to enjoy this beautiful view, to see Gods work and be inspired by it.

I have now adopted two new plants to learn about. bamboo. and a bonsai tree. The bambo reminds me of an anceint temple or palace.
The bonsai has a small lightning bolt shaped cut in a leaf so I figured it would only be right to name him harry potter. So I'm off to read up on bonsai plants. plants are pretty cool I have decided.

flowers of GSP

My favoright flower at GSP is the clamatis. and this is one of my favoright pictures ever too. although there is also this other flower I dont know the name of it yet but it is really cool blue starburst looking flower... sceen here with a moth on it. georgousI also got a cool picture the other day of a moth on the window of the garden shed.
